Pete’s Chocolate Co. is an independent, small-batch chocolatier based in Detroit, Michigan, specializing in hand-rolled truffles made with Belgian chocolate, locally sourced hormone-free dairy, and an array of fruits, nuts, spices and liqueurs. Hand-rolled truffles are unique because of their soft, creamy texture and dense, rich flavor. Pete also makes a variety of molded truffles, chocolate bars, drinking chocolates, mousses, and various chocolate-covered things.
Pete learned the mysterious ways of chocolate from a chocolatier named Iván Arce while living in the small city of San Cristóbal de las Casas in the southern highlands of Mexico, the original home of chocolate. He brought what he learned back to his native Detroit, where he has worked on developing recipes for a variety of both classic and unique flavors. He has continued his studies in chocolate at the Schoolcraft College Culinary School, and through reading, experimenting and eating a lot of chocolate from across the United States and Europe.
Pete’s Chocolate Co. is proud to be a part of the incredible community of small food entrepreneurs in the Detroit area, and is a member of FoodLab Detroit.
